Canoe Floats

A canoe float trip down Elk River,
is what summer in the Ozarks is all about. Elk River is a class 1 to 2 river, meaning it is ideal for beginners or folks who just want an easy, relaxing trip down the river. The water in Elk River is crystal clear and the scenary, with it's bluffline views can't be beat. We have both plastic and aluminum canoes and you won’t find us charging more for plastic canoes like a lot of other outfitters. – Why do they do that?

The 8 mile float is by far the most popular trip, but you can make the 5 mile last all day if you spend more time on the plentiful gravel bars.

Raft Floats

We introduced rafts to Elk River over 10 years ago. Today they are the most popular way to float the river. They are perfect for folks that don’t want to worry about tipping over, or groups that just want to stay together. Kids can jump and swim off them while going down the river! You are not going to find white water out there, but there are some shoots and rapids to make it interesting! We have only Star brand, raft sizes include 6 person rafts and new for 2011 is our 18 person raft. We find a lot of groups like to put only 4 or 5 people per raft with their coolers.

If you are interested in doing a raft trip, call early for reservations, numbers are limited!

Beetle Bugs

Beetle Bugs are our newest float vessel available for trips down the Elk River. They offer the stability of a raft in a single person vessel, these inflatable “kayaks” have two inflatable pontoon style chambers are far more stable than a traditional kayak. They will handle kids all the way up to full sized adults. These boats are made by the same company that produces our rafts so there is n doubt in the quality of design and materials. Some people prefer this craft for floating the river!! Limited quantity available so reserve early!!

Just like with kayaks, these are a great way to solve the odd person out issue when the rest of the group has canoes.

$35 per Beatle Bug, per day

Kayaks

Our sit-on-top kayaks have created quite a following over the years. Once some people try them, they never go back to canoes. They will handle kids all the way up to full sized adults. This year we are adding a new sit-on-top kayak from Jackson kayak. They are similar to our current fleet, but have some revisions to make it an all around better craft.

Kayaks are a great way to solve the odd person out issue when the rest of the group has canoes.

Tubes

The old school way to go down the river! Our tubes are commercial style tubes with thick vinyl and built in handles made especially for river floating. Most of them have bottoms in them, but some of the older models do not.

The 5 mile float is recommended for tubers due to the slower water.

Tubes are popular for pulling an extra person or a cooler behind a canoe.

Any Float
$25 per Tube, per day
